How to Sign Up as an Applicant
What is an Applicant?
As an applicant on EmergeNET, you’re someone who’s looking to:
- Discover potential career paths
- Build skills relevant to your career goals
- Get matched with job opportunities that align with your unique skills and interests
Getting Started: Accessing EmergeNET
You can access EmergeNET through:
- EmergeNET Mobile App: Coming soon!
- Web Browser: Go to applicant.emergenet.com
Step 1: Sign Up
When you’re ready to get started, open the app or website:
- Choose a login method:
- Single Sign On: Choose the method you prefer:
- Google: Click “Continue with Google.”
- Microsoft 365: Click “Continue with Microsoft.”
- LinkedIn: Click “Continue with LinkedIn.”
- Email: Click “Continue with email”.
- Enter your email and click on the magic link sent to your inbox to log in instantly.
- Single Sign On: Choose the method you prefer:
TIP: Use a personal email instead of a school email, as many schools disable student accounts after graduation. If you use a school email, be sure to set up a recovery email.
Step 2: Enter Your Personal Information
Fill in the required personal details, keeping in mind that EmergeNET values your privacy. We don’t share sensitive information—like your email or phone number—with employers. The information you provide is solely for matching you with job opportunities and meeting school requirements.
Step 3: Add Your Education Information
- Select Your School:
- Start typing to find your school. If it’s not listed, reach out to us at support@emergejobs.com to request that it be added.
- Choose Your Education Type:
- For high schools:
- General
- Career and Technical Education (CTE)
- Early Middle College
- For colleges and universities:
- Certificate
- Associate’s
- Bachelor’s
- Master’s
- Doctorate
- For high schools:
- Select Your Area of Study:
- Pick the general field you’re interested in, like “Healthcare” or “Engineering.”
- Choose Your Program:
- This is your specific career path within the field you selected. Pick the closest match if your exact program isn’t listed.
Step 4: Write Your Bio
Write a brief bio to introduce yourself to potential employers. This can include your interests, skills, and a little about what makes you unique!
Step 5: Share Your Work Interests and Preferences
The work interests section lets us know more about what types of job opportunities suit your preferences. Follow these steps to complete this section:
- Select Interested Cities:
- Choose at least one city where you’d like to find job opportunities. To help you get started, we’ve already added the city where your school is located.
- We’ve also suggested some additional cities that may interest you. If you don’t see the city you’re looking for, simply type it into the search bar to find it.
- Choose Interested Industries:
- Select the industries you’re interested in. You can use the search bar to find industries that match your career goals and the type of roles you’d like to explore.
This information helps EmergeNET connect you with opportunities that align with your location and career interests.
Step 6: Set Your Work Preferences
In this section, you can further tailor your job search by specifying preferences for relocation, remote work, and types of opportunities. Here’s how:
- Choose Your Preferences:
- Open to Relocate: Turn this option on if you’re willing to move to a different city for work.
- Open to Remote Work: Enable this if you’re open to opportunities that allow you to work remotely.
- Select Opportunity Types: Choose one or more types of opportunities that interest you. Here’s a breakdown of each option:
- Full-Time Work: For positions where you’ll work 30 or more hours a week.
- Internship: For roles that provide hands-on experience specifically in your area of study.
- Part-Time Work: For positions with fewer than 30 hours per week.
- Seasonal Work: Opportunities available during summer or other school breaks.
- Work-Based Learning: Gain work experience while still attending school.
- Continuing Education: Opportunities for further educational experiences.
- Apprenticeship: Work and learn through a registered program that combines industry-specific education with hands-on training.
- Scholarship: Options to pursue additional educational opportunities.
- Volunteer: Give your time to support a good cause or organization.
- Opportunity Shadow: Observe a company or a specific role to gain insight into the work environment and responsibilities.
Choosing your work preferences allows EmergeNET to connect you with opportunities that best fit your goals and availability.
Step 7: Add Your Work Experience
In this section, you can showcase any past work experience that might be relevant to future employers. Adding details about your previous roles helps give employers a fuller picture of your background and skills.
- Enter Details for Each Experience:
- Position: Enter the job title you held.
- Company Name: Enter the name of the organization where you worked.
- Start Date: Select the month and year you started the position.
- Currently Employed: Toggle this option if you’re still in this role.
- End Date: If applicable, select the month and year you finished this position.
- Upload a Resume (Optional):
- If you already have a resume prepared, you can upload it here to streamline your profile setup. The resume may highlight your experience and skills in a format that some employers prefer.
Adding your work experience and resume (if available) helps to make your EmergeNET profile even more appealing to potential employers.
You’re All Set! Completing Your Registration
Once you’ve filled in all the sections, click “Finish” to complete your registration. Congratulations—you’re now officially registered as an applicant on EmergeNET!
Here’s what happens next:
- You’ll be automatically logged in and taken to your dashboard, where you’ll immediately see a list of job opportunities that match the profile you just created.
- Want to update your profile? No problem! You can make changes at any time. Just click your profile picture in the top navigation bar to open the menu, then select “My Profile”. From there, you’ll be able to edit any part of your profile, add more experiences, or adjust your preferences.
